Road Lamp Sensor Design

This is a freelance project I engaged recently. The client has developed chips that could save mass volume of electricity in city’s lighting system, my duty is to transform the technology on chips into a product.

The client provides me some prototype PCBs, let me develop some shapes of the final product from them. When object such as automobile or pedestrian emitting infrared ray (IR) moves in certain range, the IR signal will be captured by the smaller component (infrared ray sensor) via a piece of Fresnel lens, which translates the movement into pulse signal which could be read by electronic device. The larger one (the motherboard) collects electronic signal from the IR sensor and distribute the information via its wireless telecom module to light up street lamps around.
